Sheffield Lord Mayor's 10K race 2007
by Nick Smith 22nd April 2007This 10K road race started in the Don Valley Stadium, Sheffield on Sunday April 22nd 2007, at 11am. I ran it last year as my first ever race, in 48:26 min, so I was hoping to beat that.
Unfortunately I didn't know anyone who was running the race this year, and I found setting an even pace very hard. It wasn't helped by the complete lack of Km markers on the course 
I came home in 43:23 min, which was a huge PB improvement 
I bumped into Llinos at the start, and I went back onto the course afterwards and ran alongside her for the final kilometer to give her some encouragement.
At this rate of improvement, I need to run it in 38:20 min next year, and I'll have the 10K world record by 2010
